Improving food security for Orang Asli in Bentong
The purpose of this project is to train participants from the Orang Asli community in Kg Sg. Lebak at Bentong on aquaponics farming to improve food security and nutrition as well as promote sustainable agriculture. Aquaponics combines fish rearing and vegetable cultivation in an integrated farming approach. The nutrient-rich water nurtures pesticide-free vegetables, including kangkong, baby bayam, and HK choysum. The villagers will be trained in fish rearing techniques from fingerlings to harvest and vegetables growing techniques from seedling to harvest. Let’s come together as one to help the Orang Asli community to break away from the vicious circle of poverty.
