Improving food security for Orang Asli in Kg Sungai Lebak

Aquaponics combines fish rearing and vegetable cultivation in an integrated farming approach. In this project, fish waste is repurposed through a bio-filtration system, transformed into valuable nitrates and nitrites by beneficial bacteria like Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter. The nutrient-rich water nurtures pesticide-free vegetables, including kangkong, baby bayam, and HK choysum. Good Growers PLT will be training the participants in fish rearing techniques from fingerlings to harvest and vegetables growing techniques from seedling to harvest. Participants will also learn about vermicomposting as supplement fish feed to reduce feed cost.
