On the vibrant morning of August 18, 2024, 184 Technip Energies employees laced up their running shoes and stood united at the starting line in front of the DBKL Tower 1, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, for the 7 KM "RUN WITH HEART, GIVE WITH HOPE” run program.
But this 7km run wasn’t just about fitness—it was a testament to solidarity, community, and a commitment to making a difference.
Jointly held during Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur’s (DBKL) KL Car Free Morning, Technip Energies collaborated with Sokong to support the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) initiative, raising crucial funds for the financial relief and assistance to the underprivileged B40 cancer patients and their families.
From Dawn to Dataran: A Journey for a Cause
The participants and their families gathered at Dataran DBKL in front of the tower as early as 6:30 am, ready for the day ahead and with a sense of purpose. Then, colleagues and their families bonded over the shared cause, further strengthening their ties and resolve to give back.
At 7:00 am, after an energising stretching session, runners set off on a scenic 7 KM route passing some of Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic landmarks, including the Pertama Complex, the PETRONAS Twin Towers and the Sheraton Hotel. The experience was both inspiring and challenging, adding depth to each participant’s journey.
The morning’s program did not end with the run. After crossing the finish line, participants enjoyed a lively Zumba session, breakfast, and the much-anticipated lucky draw.
A Run with Heart. A Run with Lasting Impact.
The “RUN WITH HEART, GIVE WITH HOPE” event vividly showcased Technip Energies' commitment to promoting and fostering a healthy lifestyle among its workforce while making a difference in the community.
The run encouraged participants to embrace various forms of physical activity, from walking and jogging to cycling and Zumba, thereby raising awareness about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The organisation also leveraged this event to underscore its dedication to sustainability. The 184 women and men and their families who have shown up to support underprivileged cancer patients and their loved ones reflect the organisation’s broader commitment to leaving behind a legacy of kindness and care for the community, paving the way for a better tomorrow.
Additionally, holding the event in conjunction with the KL Car Free Morning further highlighted our organisation's dedication to reducing our carbon footprint.
The collective spirit of generosity and commitment to NCSM’s cause was evident throughout the event. The successful turnout and enthusiastic participation demonstrated the impact of coming together for a common purpose.
